Subjects Taught

I grew up as the daughter of two educators- my father a Physics/Astronomy professor

and my mother - a home economics teacher.   Attending school from K-12 in the

Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township in Indianapolis, IN was a gift.

I then received my Bachelor of Arts in Education at Anderson University in Anderson, IN and

both Masters of Education and Specialists Degree in Early Childhood

Education at West GA College in Carrollton, GA.

While doing student teaching and a bit of substitute teaching in the

state of Indiana, my teaching career has mainly been here in Cartersville, GA.

I came to GA in 1988 and have taught here ever since.

It's been rewarding to have taught Early Intervention in both math and literacy

and in grades K, 1 and 2 - although most of my years have been

happily spent in Kindergarten!

I LOVE to teach.   Seeing the wonder in the eyes of kindergartners and the

joy when a concept finally "cliques" is so rewarding.   I grew up in Indpls, IN

as the oldest of 3 children in an amazing family.   Teaching positions were

getting scarce there so my husband and I migrated here - to GA.

After being a flight attendant for 3 years with American TransAir

I decided it was time to teach.   Mr. Charles Nichols offered me

my first position here in Cartersville and it has stuck!

My family consists of a husband (also a teacher) and 3 wonderful children.
