Subjects Taught
First Grade

I am a graduate of Cartersville High School.  I have earned both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University.  I have also completed my ESOL Endorsement.  I have participated in Math Recovery Intervention Specialist training.  This year I am working to complete a Reading Endorsement.

I pursued my love of teaching first as a Pre-School Teacher at The Children's Learning Center at Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, then as a Paraprofessional at Cartersville Primary School.  I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and became a classroom teacher at Cartersville Primary School in 2003.  I went back to Kennesaw State University and earned a Master of Education Degree in 2007.  I have taught students in kindergarten, first grade focus, and traditional first grade classrooms at CPS.

Cartersville is my home.  I grew up here and graduated from Cartersville High School.  My husband, Mike, served in the Army and we lived in many different places but were fortunate to be able to live here for both of our children, Kelly and Tim, to graduate from Cartersville High School also.  We are excited that our granddaughter is attending Cartersville Primary School as a kindergartner this year.  Go Canes!
