First Grade

I am a graduate of Cass High School.  I received my Undergraduate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Reinhardt College, and then later received my Master's Degree from Piedmont College.  During the 2016-2017 school year, I will be working towards completing course work that will allow me to add a Reading Endorsement my teaching certificate.

My teaching career began at Buffington Elementary in Canton, Georgia.  I taught first grade there for four years and was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2006.  In 2007, I began teaching at Cartersville Primary School.  The 2016-2017 school year is my 14th year in education.

Welcome to First Grade!!  I am thrilled to be your child's teacher this year.  First Grade is an exciting year of learning, growth, and development.  It will be a challenging but very rewarding year for you and your child.

Your child will begin using an agenda this school year.  The agenda is a great tool to use for communicating between home and school.  Please make sure that you check your child's agenda every night and initial next to his/her daily behavior.

I live in Cartersville with my family.  I have been married to David for 15 years, and we have a 10 year old son named Evan.  We also have a mischevious labrador retriever, named Ally.  I graduated from Reinhardt College with a Bachelor's in Science Degree in Early Childhood Education.  I received my Master's Degree from Piedmont College in 2011.

In my spare time I enjoy playing tennis, watching SEC football, spending time with my family, and reading.

I love teaching first grade!
