A Music Teacher’s Story:

I love being the Music teacher at Cartersville Primary School!  It brings me such joy to share my love of music with these inquisitive, young children.  I work to instill in them an appreciation for music as they grow and learn. I know some of them will go on to become musicians and flourish in the areas they are gifted.

I began blossoming as a musician at the age of 6 when I began talking piano lessons.  I enjoyed singing and playing the piano through my young years and had many opportunities to perform and serve within my school, community and church.  As a young adult, I earned a Bachelor of Music Education with a concentration in piano in 1994.  I have taught private piano for over 20 years, and I am in my 8th year of teaching in the classroom.

I’ve been married for 22 years to my husband, Don, and we have 3 wonderful children…Nathan, Daniel, and Anna Lane. Nathan attends college and the younger attend high school.

What a Year looks like in Music at CPS:

Every day in Music class is exciting, but the highlights of each school year include a special program for first and second grades. The first graders celebrate America and perform a special program for Veteran’s Day in the month of November. The second graders prepare a full-scale musical through the winter months titled “The Granny Awards.” This school year they will perform on March 23, 2017.
