At CPS, your child is taught about all types of books.  We want him to read many fiction books, and learn about particular authors and illustrators.  Our goal  is that he will also choose non-fiction books for information, pleasure, and instruction. Â
As the student moves from kindergarten to first grade, and finally to second, our expectation is for him to grow in skill and mature as a reader.
Reading enjoyment can last a lifetime. Â Let the fun begin!
The purpose of this site is to communicate with teachers and parents general information about our library. Â Many special events will be listed so parents can be informed about the exciting celebrations of reading, involving all Little Canes, teachers, and office staff at our school.
